Sprouts Data is a business data provider for AI assistants and apps: search companies, people, patents, news, funding rounds, job openings and research papers through an API or an MCP server.

Do I need to write code?

No. Add the MCP server to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or VS Code and ask in words. Developers use the same data through the REST API with one header.

What does it cost to start?

Nothing. A free account lets you create API keys and comes with starting credits, and calls made with a test key are free. No credit card required.

What can I search?

Nine kinds of record: companies, people, patents, news, funding rounds, job openings, research papers, market reports and trends. Describe what you want in plain English, or send filters.

How do I know an answer is complete?

Every search response says how it read your question, whether the total is a full count or a lower bound, and anything that limited the answer. Your code, or your agent, can check before it relies on the rows.

Can it show how two companies are connected?

Yes. Relationships finds people at one company who share a past employer or school with people at another, shows who one person can reach at a company, and lists the institutions two companies have in common. Org charts count a company's people by department and seniority.

Can my AI agent use it on its own?

Yes. Agents can read llms.txt and the OpenAPI spec, connect through the MCP server, and start with a free test key.
