# Sprouts Data

> Sprouts Data is a business data provider for AI assistants and apps: search companies, people, patents, news, funding rounds, job openings and research papers through an API or an MCP server.

Sprouts Data is the data platform from Sprouts.ai (Sprouts Inc.). It is not affiliated with Sprouts Farmers Market.

Access: REST API at https://api.sproutsdata.ai (one header, X-API-Key, server-side only) and a hosted MCP server at https://dashboard.sproutsdata.ai/mcp. Questions that need several steps (criteria checked on every row, named enrichment columns, exclusions, cited insights) run as agent runs: POST /v1/agents/runs, or the MCP tool sprouts_research_run. Test keys (sk_dsp_test_) query the same data at no cost. Every search response reports how the question was read (resolved_search), whether the total is a full count or a lower bound (total_is_estimate) and what limited the answer (degradation).

It does not return email addresses or phone numbers, does not read arbitrary web pages, and has no alerts or webhooks yet.
